What is the difference in a GTS or a SR5 sorry if its a stupid question but i dont know whats different i know the looks are different but is that it or more or less HP TQ????
On both AE86 (85-87) and AE92 (88-92) Corollas, the GTS comes with beefier suspension (swaybars and strut bar), nicer/sportier interior (including battery and Oil pressure gauges), bigger wheels, rear disc brakes, body skirts, and of course comes with 120-130hp 4AGE motor as opposed to the 4AC (65hp, 85-870, 4AF (90hp, 88-89) and 4AFE (105-110hp, 90-92) motors.
So basically yeah, the GTS model is faster, sportier and nicer looking than the SR5 models.
and lets not forget on the ae86 sr5 the body is missing spot welds that strenthen the body. The transmission are the same in the ae86 for the manual with the ae92 it's a different transmission for the sr5 and gts.

there isn't any more welding in an sr5 body than a gts bocy... that's a myth that popped up online long ago.... i have worked on both and know people who OWN both (and been working on both since they were new)

if you're talking ae86's.... yes the bumpers are different..... sr5's weren't painted.... the GTS bumpers were and also had the inserts on the sides
some (not all) gts's have an LSD rearend..... those rearends have a slightly different length driveshaft than the non LSD gts and SR5 as well..... but for some reason (haven't looked too much into it as i don't, yet, own an ae86) the SR5 driveshafts are looked for by those knowing what they're doing.... probably has to do with using a stronger rearend from an older supra or celica.... dunno

oops srry guys, i came off that statement not how i wanted, i meant dont they have different ratios, yes the sr5 just had the open diff and some GT-S came with LSD and in canada the LSD was optional and powersteering was standard.

that doesn't make any sense to me if they'll be using a stronger rear end why not just ge a 1pc. shaft?
