Question AE101 USDM/JDM interchangeability questions..

hi there

the reason I am asking because I am considering importing an AE101 corolla (corolla levin or sprinter-tureno) until the 15 year old rule in canada and I would like to know about parts interchangeability. Now, I know body panels and well as windows would have to be imported from japan as they were never used in any north american toyota car, but what I am wondering what is shared between USDM and JDM ae101's. Namely suspension, are ball joints and tie rods the same on usdm ae101s as they are on jdm ae101s?

Sorry if this has been covered, I searched and I didn't find what I was looking for. Any assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

regards

ps: i miss my old ae92! cant wait to another corolla..

No corollas did.

The steering should be the same (it is between SS and non SS levins) but the front suspension will have different bottom arms, hubs, brakes, sway bar, and shocks/springs. Might be best to buy a non S/S levin/trueno.

They are almost as fun to drive, and you should be able to get parts.
