Can someone please school me on the Corolla XRS?

Okay this car is definetely underrated. I just want to know more about it, how fast it is, top speed, how easy it is to mod it, etc. All I know about it so far is...

- Shares the 22Z-GE with the Lotus Elise and Celica
- Has a 6-speed manual
- 0-60 in the 7 second range
- Top of the line Corolla and sort of rare.

Just need to know, how fast can it get? It does have a lot of sound insulation, and we would need to do some weight reduction to make it faster...with that engine the Lotus Elise can reach 60 in 4 seconds..

Heres the difference
Corolla XRS 2006(07 not avail)- 2,670 lbs
Lotus Elise 2006- 1,984 lbs

While you could likely take some weight out, you wouldnt be able to lose the 600 pound difference. unless you were going to turn it into a track car

That and the Elise pushes 190hp out of the 2ZZGE.

ok, this is the third time i have had to do this because the thing keeps signing me out.

you would have to hack the car to get it 200lbs heavier than the elise. which wouldnt be good.
the 2003 + car is crummy and cheaply built. the seats are for sumo wrestlers and its a big, clumsy tall car. it has nothing in common with corollas built anywhere else really, and was made just for the N.A. market.

dont waste your money on a new car, it'll depreciate like crazy, buy a 2002 corolla for less than 15k canadian and get a much nicer can, you can pop in a 1ZZ a 2ZZ or even a 4AGE 20V, the car actually shares some similarities with other markets corollas so it wont be as much of a pain to pop in a 4AGE 20V. the engine mounting spots might be fairly similar.
