Welcome to the club..... I seen this in many Corollas. Try putting the pop rod closer to the battery hold down bracket before closing the hood. Works for me

replace whats broken. The prop rod and hinge are one thing. little yellow clip is another and the battery holder is another. Should run you around $30 - $40. My car was missing all that. I assume it was a chain, battery holder broke which tool the hold down for the prop rod so it shook around to much and the clip at the end busted. I tried wreckers but only found the ones for sedans, alot of the coupes were either missing it or had them broken. But like I said for the cost of them new, considering the hinge is plastic and will get brittle over time might as well go to the dealer.

I thought he was talking about the prop rod? maybe the latch... for that I say go to the wreckers if you can't adjust it to fit. Migth be bent or it might be the hood

soooooo it would be pretty easy just to slap on two dampers? would Just one hold it up?

that would be VERY easy,

and about the latch, i found one on ebay. it was like $8 but $18 for shipping, but i guess its a good investment
