engine/trans combo's, rpm's, & speed

well, here's a topic....

punter.... i'm pretty sure it's a c52.... it has 2 ears on it....

back before i did my own work, the original c50 took a crap on me (lost 1st and 2nd gear.... they were as useful for going forward as neutral).... so i had a shop replace the transmission.... i told them i wanted a c52 transmission from an ae92 gts or if needed an ae102....

they told me they found a c52 and put it in..... still, to this day i'm pretty sure it's from an ae102....

that being said.... it revs to 7800rpm (when running right.....) for now, until i get it on MS (hello 8500)

also.... want to add to this...

originally i thought it was off because I had the larger 15" wheels on it and it may not have been plus sized quite correctly..... but right now i have stock mr2 14" wheels (the ugly triangles) and stock tires on it, and the rpm/mph didn't change

So what's the question??

We need to start a "post pics of your C5X transmission" thread so we can figure out which one is which and what's what. I have a 5spd from a Silvertop 20V which I thought was a C56, but after the aussie guys on the board posted that "Silvertop 20V's came with C52's also" now I'm not so sure what I got.

if its a c52 it should have a place for a starter at the front and back of the tranny i think c50's only have the one in the front?

It be hard to tell a C56 appart from a C52 then as they both have the same layout, its the gears that change.

except the US versions of the c56 and c60 won't bolt up to an A series motor..... they are on the ZZ motors and use a different bellhousing.....

(ren, i didn't have a question... punter had asked me about this in another thread that got locked)

Wheel size won't affect you indicated speed as that is measured from the gearbox. ie only your actual speed will change.

And its only the 3rd and 4th gear that changed.
