Redoing the lock tumblers for my door and I was wonder what you guys suggest I buy to put in them to stop them from coroding and siezing. I have been told graphite, but I still thought just in case, better check.
I believe lithium grease will also work, but don't quote me on that though. Or you can ask Toyota what that stuff they have on their cans that they spray on the door hinges is, that will also work.
well I bought 2 handles from the wrecker since I broke my driver one when I got fustrated and just pulled on it breaking the tab and back of the tubler plus the handle was already cracked. best thing is I got the key for these handles too, and the tumblers work! just wanted to clean them up and find something to put in them so they don't seize like the other ones did last winter
I don't know if it's available in the US, I'm sure it will be, but we have a lot of dry lube products in Aus, like waxes, that are great for locks. You really want to use something graphite or a wax because they are dry lubes and not liquids (WD40, teflon lubes etc). If you use a wet lube you're going to get lubricant on your keys and all through every set of pants you own!

yea thats what I did. was going to be lazy and just use the other key I had but meh took all the handles apart and made one good handle for each side that worked with the orginal key. Also figured out how to get the handle out without having to unlock it to slip it out!
meh I already did it the other day, bought some liquid graphite. If it gums up I will fix it. The only reason they stopped working was nothing was there to keep the crap from the winter from sticking to them
