4age head on 4afe block???

from what I've been reading it sounds to me that the 4age and 4afe are the same engine with different heads. If that were true I would have a goal for my 95 corolla. but is it tru? can it be done?

Relax dude.. it takes hours/days to get answers.. not minutes.. you're asking at 9am when no one is even online, and you expect an inmediate answer? I'm assuming you're new to forums, you got a lot to learn as to how forums work, they're MESSAGE boards, not chat lines.

Yes it can be done
No, you're not gonna get 210+hp from a 4AGE without a turbo unless you do a L O T ! of work, it's not cheap and by the time you're done the motor won't be driveable on the street anyways.

Plus, using the search button would yield you alot of answers on what the issues of this head swap are.
Your main problem is gonna be the pistons.

There was a guy from Canada that did this swap, mainly because he had the ALL-TRAC sedan and I'm guessing he wanted to retain the All-Trac setup. Not sure if he had piston problems or not, he never went into details about his setup.

but the all-trac tranny fits the 4A-GE block aswell. Your compression is gonna be quite low with 4A-FE pistons with a 4A-GE head.

well we have talked about this a million times but we always tell the person it's a bad idea. I am still curious if there are any gains to it
