Want to replace 2005 Corolla S gauges

Hi Everyone,

I have a 2005 Corolla S. They come with the white gauges. I like the LE's Optitron gauges better and would like to have my S's instrument cluster replaced with the LE's. My question is, should I go throgh my Toyota dealer or is there a less expensive place to by stock Toyota parts. My dealer wants $350 plus labor. Is it difficult to replace the gauge cluster myself?

Hey I have an '05 LE and the optitron is very impressive. I agree that it does look better than the whiteface S gauges. The cluster itself should not be hard to install but I would just hunt around on ebay for one. The dealer does want a high premium for those gauges and they won't get cheaper either b/c a lot of ppl want those for their Corolla's. Good luck!

Thanks thms05corolla. After thinking about it, I think I'll let the dealer do it. I don't plan on making too many other mods so I might as well just get it over with. I've had my car for almost a year now - a silver 05 S. There are a couple of things I don't like about it, but for the most part it's a nice enough car.

I went to my Toyota dealer to order the LE Optitron gauges for my Corolla S, but the guy at the service desk said the parts aren't interchangable because the wiring harnesses are different. So basically he told me they can't do it. Has anyone here actually replaced their S gauges with LE Optitron gauges. According to my dealership it's not possible.
