At a guess, truly basic maintenance should be covered in the driver's manual that came with it? There should be a placard somewhere (like the door or glovebox) with the tire pressure. The air filter should still be servicable unless they have been really racking up the k's. If it's an '06 shouldn't you still be getting log book oil changes from a dealer approved mech?

2-3 day interstate roadtrip isnt even that bad. You're probably driving about 8-12hours a day, with breaks in between. Not really an issue for the car. We made a 7 day road trip without any special servicing.

Go to any Toyota dealer and pick one up...My dealer has them laying around all over the place...Any for a 03 Corolla and up would work...Oil grade is on your filler cap and tire size/pressure is on you glove box door, Your cabin air filter is located under your glove box..Replace it yourself because it take 5 minutes and costs $15 but Toyota will charge you $60 to do it...If its an 06 it should still be under the 36 month warranty and if you plan on doing the maintenance yourself make sure you save the receipts in case something happens...Go to advancedauto.com and most of the time they will show you a picture of every part you want to replace and autozone even shows you the step by step replacement and specs...Good Luck

all of the tire information should be on the inside door jamb... like all cars.... a/f should be obvious and an 06 shouldn't need a cabin air filter for quite a while longer..... oil grade should be 5w30 or 5w20... up to you

It doesn't hurt to check it out to see if its dirty, I check mine every 6 months and on one check it was filthy ...Especially in a hot place like Cal where you need a good air flow from your AC..Its easy to pull out and check...As far as the tire info I just checked mine everything you need to know about your tires and capacity weights are on the inside of the glove box door like I said

haha thanks guys.. and yea teh reason im asking this is cuz i plan on checking and doing all the maintenence myself.. cuz dealers charge so damned much.. umm cabin filter has 15k miles... that needs a change... i just did my STi and i pretty much had to flame thrower the dust bunnies. and umm do u guys know how long the engine air filter lasts?

thanks for all the help looking forward to more responses

oh.. and yea i know the stuff i listed was pretty general and obvious but im looking for hints as to what else i should inspect.. since the person taking the roadtrip knows pretty much nothing about cars.. step on pedal = go..

I'll give you and other car owners a tip, never use triple edge wiper blades! I put a set on my car and what happens is those two little groves between the triple edges trap all kinds of stuff, tree seeds/twigs, little pieces of stones I learned the hard way and got two nice wiper scratches in my window....I just stick to Anco or Michelin single blades now and that Prestone "bug off" washer fluid really works great for getting crap off your windshield while driving, I was really impressed on how clean it got my window compared to reg fluid $2.29 at walmart and worth it!
