92 rolla won't start after heavy driving unless rested for 20 mins. help please

just as the topic says. my wife's 92 corolla 4dr just started ating up this way. here are the symptoms

when you turn the key it does not rollover at all!!!! i had my wife try to turn it while i had the hood open and the only thing that happens is that i can hear and feel a click on the main relay fuse in the fuse box under the hood (it's the black 12v toyota fuse) i replaced it, but still same thing. the car starts if i get a jump but other than that you have to wait about 20-30 minutes to start it again after heavy driving(after that it starts right up). i got the battery and alternator tested all good. and the starter was just replaced about 100 miles ago.

any ideas?

I don't know if this will help..but I had a similar problem with my 89 honda accord. After heavy driving, i would have to let it sit for about 30 mins for it to start. My friend who's a mechanic replaced my battery cables and that fixed it. but like i said, id on't know if this is the case for your toyota.

It's called heatsoak dude.. the heat from excessive driving soaks into the starter causing it to malfunction, usually a sign that the starter will eventually need to be replaced or rebuilt.

Like REN69 says, I would go with the starter aswell. Might be a good idea to do it now while it's still running. The way things go bad is when you least expect it or when you totally forget about it on a midnight munchie trip to the store. The battery cables is also a good theory. Usually hard and/or brittle wires & cables going to the starter is a good give away of bad wires.
