4afe fuel delivery

@ what pressure does a stock fuel pump in a 95 4afe corolla pump? Im looking to get about 180hp and at 45 psi i think i need about 220cc injectors. i found injectors but i cant find what pressure my pump pumps. And if I need a new fuel pump what else would i need to complete the fuel delivery?

As far as i know, the Pump in the '95 is a 40psi. I know this because i am trying to source an 88psi for the 20v as it is running lean. And yes, the fuel rail will handle the extra pressure - But you can get beefier ones if you are worried about it..

so I should just need new 220cc fuel injectors and im off to the races? Or wait I noticed the difference in power when I put the header, high flow cat and catback on the car. Now if the car came stock at 105hp and lets cay I got 30hp for the complete exhaust then thats 135hp. According to my calculations if im getting 135hp now then the car must have about 260cc injectors. Does anyone know the size of the stock injectors?

Your ECU wouldnt know how to operate the bigger injectors, because the maps were made for the smaller injectors. The stock injectors are something like 180cc, depends on the color of them, theres charts online to use for reference. Bigger injectors would be timed to operate like the smaller ones, hence the idle fuel delivery would be complete shit and you'd run really rich. As would the rest of the powerband, but its most noticeable in idle.

Toyota Camry 3S-FE injectors are 200cc-213cc depending on year model. Colors are dark blue to yellow

You wont have a 30hp gain from those, so you really dont have to worry about the injectors. Assdyno is the most unreliable power measuring device.

like flashmn said, stock is around 170-180'ish....

the stock pump puts out much higher pressure than what is in the rail..... the pressure in the rail is regulated by the fuel pressure regulator (which the factory one is a vacuum operated rising rate regulator). The pump i'm sure will handle the power..... should be the same pump as a 4age car (and 4age pumps can deliver quite a bit of fuel....). If you're concerned i would start with an aftermarket FPR and bump it up a bit.... then later maybe go with some 5sfe injectors....

Question

Adjustable fuel pressure regulator is ok if you know what you're doing and actually need it. This guy WONT need it. Downsides to an adjustable fpr are the fact that once you adjust it, your current maps just went out the door.

I'd say do some mods that actually need the higher fuel delivery first and then you gotta understand, mileage just went out the door.
Exhausts, intakes, etc wont do squat when the bottle neck is the head itself. Once you get that sorted out, then you can consider upgrading your fuel delivery.

Just my 02 cents.

Thanks for the great info. this year im just trying to work on gettng the car cleaned up put in new suspention everythig and handling everything!! and a couple things i might need for future upgrades. im concidering a turbo at about 4lbs i found a good deal on a kit for a 95 corolla and it doesn't have to be great since ill only be pushing 4lbs. I know ill have to get it re-mapped once i put in the injectors. i got the numbers wrong "135hp =260cc injectors" it should be about 170cc which would make sence. my problem is now if the 135hp is even close i don't have my cold air intake(hopefully only temp) or my 56mm instead of 50mm TB. even with those upgrades ill risk running lean. if i want around 220hp (wont happen but with turbo ill try) ill need about 350cc injectors but i cant find any. i can find 450cc injectors though but with the pump running at 40psi i will need a regulater.

good luck doing that with the stock ecu.. time for a standalone!

Trust me, its not. You wont get 135hp out of a 4A-FE with an intake and exhaust. and the TB, with those mods, why did you bother swapping it? I'm running forced induction with the stock TB of a 4A-FE.

You'll need a regulator anyhow. I dont think the stock regulator will flow enough, plus I dont think it works with positive manifold pressure.
You can do dual injectors, or you can just get the 450CC injectors and drop the injector duty cycle to have them spray less.
