Brakes messed up?

Hi guys, new to the forum.

I have a 2005 S- auto. When I put it in reverse, back up, and hit the brakes, there's a little clunk. When I put it in drive, go forward, and then brake, there's another clunk. It won't clunk again until I change directions (go into reverse) and apply the brakes.

Anyone know what this might be and how to fix it? I

Thanks!

Ya, It sounds like the brake pads are moving a little bit in the bracket. I wouldnt say thats normal though. At least it isnt for most cars.

Yes it is. What do you think, you think the pads are held by the bracket so that they cant move? How do the brakes then manage to push them on the disks if they were held solidly?
Theres some allowance for moving.

Sounds to me like the brakes are sticking more than anything.. you may want to get them looked at to make sure nothing is wrong.

small movement can result in a loud bang. Like my rear springs, they give a loud bang into the cabin, when the spring coils are just touching each other. Its not like every noise means something is wrong.
