XXX Celica 1zz-FE in a corolla

ive looked everywhere! and i cant seem to find any information on any one swaping out the corolla 1zzfe for the celica(gt) 1zzfe! i have a 2000 toyota corolla 1zzfe - vvti.

i think its a good way to get a manual transmission and gain 40 hp. i live in chicago, and stuff like this isnt really common. so i want to do it.

would it cost allot to get the engine period? how about the swap? is it even possible? if so, is it easy seeing how its the same engine? would i have to get parts fabricated?

lol, sorry, i just really want to know <3

umm.. I think you're talking about the 2ZZGE which is why you're not finding any info on it.

The 1ZZFE in the Celica is basically the same motor as your Corolla's, the 2ZZGE in the Celica GT (US) and GT-S (Canada) is the 180hp powerplant.

The 2ZZ-GE will fit but it wont be a simple drop in as the engines are slighty different. You also dont even wanna think about a hybrid G head on an F block type of thing as that will get extremely messy.

oh btw
Celica GT: 1ZZ-FE VVT-i, 140hp
Celica GTS: 2ZZ-GE VVTL-i, 180hp

The 2zz has "variable valve timing with lift and intelligence" the lift is the reason for the extra 40hp

It's the same deal in the US as it is Canada: GT= 1ZZ-FE, and GTS= 2ZZ-GE
