Well the intercooler cools the air charge depending on ambient temperature. Hotter the temp outside the less efficient it is. Secondly its not "cold", its "cooler" than the air from the turbo. Thirdly, cooling the air charge helps prevent detonation.

I dont see the point in that. those CO2 coolers would cool the surface of the IC promoting better heat transfer. Or so called "one-shot" system, where you cool the IC for one run. For daily driving, there really isnt a point in it.
