Project AE92 C3H8 SC.

Just so everyone knows my propane conversion project is now officially underway.

I found a used propane system including carb, cut-off, regulator, hoses, and a 300 litre tank for 125 bucks cdn.

Sure is a hell of a lot cheaper than a new ECU and injectors.

I can use everything and that includes everything but the tank. (like 300 litres duh no shit) I'll see if I can't sell the tank or trade it in to a propane shop for one that actually fits my car. If luck has it i should make money on the deal.

My dad is driving out to Langdon AB ( for those who know where that is ) on April 9 (thurs.) to pick the system up with his truck. When I wne there today to put a deposit down I looked at the stuff heh and the tank looks like it was 1/4 the size of our echo LOL.

how long can you go on a tank with propane?

obviously you'll need the size of the tank.

what size tank are you planning to get?

Don't need a licence to fill it the service sattion attendants do but you must have it inspected and approved.

Milage is almost identical to gasoline, only its 20 cents cheaper / litre here.

Octane in Aberta is between 102 and 104 depending on the time of year.

I got the parts through the " Calgary's bargain finder http://buysell.com/ " just need patience heh.

Fill time isn't that long my dad has made/owned no less than 4 trucks/vans that run on propane with 11.5:1 compression. They all went like hell and even a truck sized tank 80L or so filling was about same as gas.

I expect to be on the street in a month or two ( I work slow.)
