Exclamation silvertop, black top

ok..here the thing.right now i have a 1997 toyota corolla with a 1.6L 4A-FE in it..im going to Wyotech in Pennsylvania is anyone has ever heard of it to become a automotive and diesel mechanic...after that i am gonna get a job and hopefully make a decent amount of money..then with my corolla i want to get either a silvertop or blacktop..heres my questions

1. Silvertop- How kindly does it take to turbo?

2. Silvertop- how much SAFE boost can u put into for daily driving?

3. What kind of horsepower numbers is this thing potential of

4. Is it a direct fit into my 1997 toyota corolla with a 4afe??

5. Blacktop- same question as #1

6.blacktop-same question as #2

7.blacktop- same question as # 3

8. blacktop-same question as # 4

9. are there any other motors i can get that would fit this car without modification??

ALSO and most important..they make a turbo kit for my 4afe for about 1800$...will this turbo fit either the blacktop or silver top???

Thanks..

hopefully this will help

1 silvertop turbo. check this out: this guy did it in a levin or a trueno i think, same thing really:

http://forums.toyspeed.org.nz/viewto...ilvertop+turbo

2 as above,

3 check this out: accurate specs for all 4AGE engines:

http://www.users.bigpond.com/vidore/...age_engine.htm

4 im damn sure anything 3e,4a,etc will bolt up with little or no modifications necessary.

Blacktops:

I'm running a blacktop 20v myself, keeping it strictly N/A though, thats what blacktops were designed for I.M.O.

Haven't seen these turbocharged yet, bear in mind that these have slightly higher compression than the silvertop/other 4AGE's and the standard rods are apparently weaker than those of the silvertop (rumour has it).

I.M.O your best choice would be the 4AGZE(supercharged variation) its a 16v rather than a 20v but the internals are better suited to taking on a turbo with far less modification than any N/A 4AGE.

hope this information is helpful.
gud luck with your rolla

Send Dr Tweak a U2U. I know he's already put one in a corolla. It requires a wiring harness I know. He can tell you what else is needed and he can make the harness if needed.

your mounts will accept it as the 4a engine block was used on both engines.

well it's not all about power when you choose SC or Turbo. There is a big difference in the feel and deciding which feel you want will decide if you stay SC or go turbo.
