Mobil 1 Auto trans fluid

Hi guys, I'm pretty much new to this forum. Been mostly reading some posts. My question is: I have a 2006 LE Automatic. Will Mobil 1 Synthetic fluid be compatible with this cars tranny? I used it in my Nissan Maxima with no problems, it even helped smooth the shifts up nicely. Thanks for the info.

Your car needs Toyota T-IV, which I don't think Mobil 1 can stand in for. Amsoil ATF claims it does. You may want to try that.

Why would you want to screw with your tranny fluid on your new 06 Toyota what improvement are you looking for Toyota T-IV is made especially for your Corolla and is as good or better then any of the other brands out there .....So again the question is why and what are you looking for by changing the brand of the fluid, just something to do Sometimes different and more expensive doesn't mean better!

What I am looking for in the future is preventitive maintenance for my car. Regular tranny fluid does the job fine with regular oil changes. But fully sythetic should do the job ten times better in protecting the transmision parts from heat and other factors. I will prob go with Amsoil for the automatic fluid, but still stick with Mobil 1 for the engine oil. Thanks for your info...

There are a couple of other that also claim to be Type T-IV compatible. Valvoline MaxLife comes to mind but I don't think it is synthetic. I know there was another synthetic but just can't seem to remember now.

I have heard good things about the Amsoil but $8+ per quart tends to scare me off a bit, especially when running two vehicles that require that stupid Type T-IV.

How often do you hear of a Toyota's tranny going compared to GM, Ford and other makes
If it works why screw with it?

You're not supposed to ever mess with the transmission fluid unless your vehicle has been operated under the special conditions listed in your maintenance guide.

You will be a lot better off just leaving it alone.

In the future when I need to drain and replace the fluid I will probably go with the regular ATF that the dealers recomend for the transmission. By the way. how often is the transmission fluid flushed and changed? I hear it is 30,000 0r 2 years witch ever comes first. Correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks again.

If you want the transmission fluid to last longer, put a transmission cooler on the car.

HAHA. Funny Question. Go hit the Lexus RX300/RX330 boards and then ask that question again.
