Directional doesn't blink...

I did a DIY on how to turn your front parking lights/corners into directionals (JDM style I believe). And it worked...with the headlights off. But there is one drawback; when I turn on my headlights and my directional, it blinks extremely slowly. The parking light stays on for about 3 seconds, blinks off for a quarter second with the directional blinking on, and then the parking light goes back on for 3 seconds with the direcitonal off. But that's only the left one.

The right one is more complicated. When I initially turn my car on, I'll try testing the right directional (with lights on) and it will blink once, and that's it. If I turn my headlights off it'll work. I'll head down the road with the right directional not working at all when my headlights are on. Once I stop, turn the car off and just leave it on acc, I'll have my headlights on and try the directional, and it'll work just like the left one; really slowly. But when I'm driving with my headlights on, nothing.

Both work exactly as they should when I have my headlights off.

I have halo headlights though. And they're wired in to the parking lights as well. Like the parking light, they blink in time with the directional. Could these after-market headlights have caused the problem...or what's up?

Are you saying your parking lights blink with the turn signals? Your headlights do not blink but you changed them for Halo lights?

A few thoughts. Is this conversion putting more electrical load on the signal flasher unit? Often when trailer lights are attached to a cars electrical system, the extra load of these lights is too much for the flasher. The result is slow or no flashing of all signal lights. The fix for this situation is a heavy-duty flasher unit. Could also be a bad ground wire, connector, etc. Also check the TN post below this thread, they may provide some insight.
