Speak to a number of different car yards, then tell them what the others have said if they go lower than sticker. Chances are if they know the guy down the road is cutting the cost, they will at least match it if not beat it.
I don't know how it works over there, but the advise i give to people here is that you just make an offer and see where they go from there. Over here, you put an offer in writing and the dealer principal either says yay or nay, or counters at what he wants. The other way i tell people to do it if its a new car is tell them that you wont pay full sticker unless they throw in a full tank of fuel, registration and dealer delivery - they will generally do it here, and for us its a saving of around $1500 off sticker.
But my advice is to shop around...
