You have to loop it so that it just bypasses the heatercore or you'll gonna have a really bad case of overheating... ask me how I know.

Just curious: Why would you want to bypass your heatercore?

less weight, if you live in a hot weather area, then why bother hooking up the heater core.

I'd say its a very marginal loss of weight. I wouldnt bother, especially if the core is fully functional.
If you ever travel north or cold places, its nice to have it.

it may be marginal but it is something, get a bunch of those marginal weight loss things together and BAM it adds up

hahaha. it would be more use to stop going to mcdonalds and lose few pounds off from your waist than to take out the heater core. Especially since theres good use for it.

Specially these nordic guys who "have" to put on some weight for body heat purposes.

keep your heater core and blower functional

i'm for weight reduction, but the heater and blower assembly really aren't that heavy. Even if its strictly a race car, the defogger and/or means of venting heat helps out.

and the extra "radiator" in case of overheat on a track is handy as well

Do yourself a favor and dont bypass the heatercore. Leave it where it is. If you ever need it or want it, it may be a PITA to put back in. Why are do want to remove it anyway?

hmm..... 100* outside.... racing on a road course track.... and "oh shit, my car is overheating"..... switch to heater.... and nothing there

having the heatercore is handy just because it will help take HOT WATER AWAY FROM THE ENGINE if the engine were to overheat.....

it's just a drift car to fuck around with on the weekends... now... forget about my engine overheating... is it absolutely necessary for the water to flow through there?
