i dont know what it is, but i began moving yesterday and i went out and PACKED AS MUCH as i could into my GTS, i fit a good bit of things inside, and then i packed up the truck and my gurls car, then when its time for all of us to leave, i jump into my FAITHFULL corolla, and to my suprise, i wont start. i would turn over, but doestn catch
i just flipped out, i couldnt beleive the time i needed her, she failded i have a few more days to get out of my place and this bitch died!!!
Anyways can someone please help me??!?!? what could be the problem?
and if anything i will just let this one rest, i really wanted back my GTS, i was ready to put soo much money into it, im glad i didnt.
i agree with ren, try jumping it go over the basics its prolly something small, as frustrating as this shit is it happens you just work through it and fix it.
here its prolly the battery or a starter....

Fuel, air, spark is what's needed. One is probably missing.
My guess is it's a fuel delivery problem as it is a sudden failure.
Pour a little fuel into the intake and see if it kicks. If yes you have a fuel starvation problem. Fuel pump is most likely the problem. I think it can be accessed through a panel behind or under the rear seat.
i say go with ren and rolla_guy, i have had the same problem when there's just enough juice to turn the engine, but not to start it, it should start w/ a jump.
It seems pretty obvious whats happening here:.... The corolla doesnt want to move. She likes it there and she is protesting. She probably popped her little engine fuse by your left foot (inside fusebox) in protest. I agree with REN,& Rolla_Guy; its possible that you have a low charge on the battery and its just not getting enough turnover speed. If not then go through the basics. Spark, fuel, air etc....What year/model is your corolla?
Good Luck
I have boosted it from my gurlfriends car, and it didnt do anything, it turns over but doesnt jump ( start ), and the battery isnt dead i know that, so im guessing it could be fuel or starter?
Put your key in the ON position, the put your transmission in 1st or 2nd gear then keep the clutch in.. get someone, maybe 2 people to push you down the street and once you get to a good speed, let the clutch out so the transmission "jump" starts the motor. Make sure your ignition is in the ON position though, or it won't work.
If jumpstarting it didn't work, then yeah it's most likely the fuel system, if it DID work, then your starter is probably done.
I had a 74 Toyota Corolla and I had the very same thing, it started great every time I wanted to drive except one and I check the fuel and it was getting that so it left me checking the spark from the Coil and that was the problem, I changed it in two minutes and I was off and running.
Just take a screw driver and stick it in the wire from the Coil to the distributer cap and hold it a half inch from a bare bolt and have someone crank over the car and you should see a spark and iffin you don't then thats the problem and iffin you do than it's the fuel pump. If it is you fuel pump try smacking the gas tank hard with a hammer or something (but not to hard that it will dent the tank) and see if you can hear the pump running.
***WHEN YOU TEST THE COIL WIRE BE SURE TO US A RUBBER HANDELED SCREWDRIVER CAUSE IFFIN IT's WORKING IT MAY SHOCK YOU***

uhh.... ren..... you are talking about Push-starting...... jumpstarting is using jumper cables (hence that term) between a running car and the not-starting car
by "turning over" do you mean the engine is cranking? If so, then it is NOT your starter....
my intuition would be coil or ignitor.... probably ignitor.... when a coil goes out it starts to act up at different temperatures or different climates... then ultimately fails..... an ignitior (especially Honda or Toyota) can just go bad, and you get no spark
if the engine cranks and doesnt' start... pull the coil wire from the distributor cap and rest it against the valve cover.... check and see if there is spark... if there's spartk, it's probably a fuel issue

Have someone turn it over after you've pulled the fuel line and see if your getting gas. If you are not getting fuel, there is an line fuel filter (metal) from the factory. I would check the fuel flow behind that and see if you are getting gas to the filter. I would also check the coil & igniter; however don't check the coil if you have the fuel line pulled. That would'nt be good, for you or the car. Some of the cars have an "engine" fuse. Its just a 15-20 amp fuse in the fuse box on the inside of the cockpit. It may be it, it may not, but it will take about 10 seconds to check it.
