94 Corolla brake lights.

We have a 94 Corolla . The brake lights are staying on all the time when the headlight switch is turned on. Headlights off, the brakelights work fine. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Maybe the bulbs were wired wrong OR the wrong bulbs were put in. Check both of these things.

Ren69, thanks for the advice. I fixed it. One of the combination taillight/stoplights had the contacts fused together. . A friend of mine on another forum told me has seen the filaments stick together and cause this problem. Anyway, new bulb and the problem is solved I hope.

I am not sure what caused the bulb terminals to melt together but I will keep an eye on it.

a bad brakelight switch can do that as well. They are about $12.00 aftermarket or about 70.00 at the dealer.
