2003 Corolla LE steering problem

Hello.
I recently purchased a used 2003 LE with auto transmission. The vehicle has 42,000 kms (approx 25,200 miles). I was on the highway this weekend, going 120 kms/hour (approx 72 m.p.h.). I had cruise control on. The vehicle all of a sudden pulled to the right, similar to when sometimes a gust of wind hits a car, but in this case there was no wind on this day. Luckily there was no car beside me otherwise I would have hit it. It did this twice on the same drive. I did try to drive with no cruise control, and could not get it to duplicate this problem. Can anybody make any suggestions as to what it may be. I will be calling the dealership tommorow, but wanted to get some members opinions, as I find dealerships are not too smart at times.
Thanks in advance.

when you use the steering, does it have a lot of play? Also since the car is low milage for the year it probably still has the Good Year Integrity tires on in, which are the biggest flop ever, change the asap also...

freeplay on the steering wheel feels normal. mys sister has a 2003 corrola ce with auto, and steering feels the same as hers. it does have the goodyear integrity tires on it. could that be causing it?

It could be the tires, I have some tires that have made my cars act wierd but I have also had that because the car needed a front end alighnment (sp?) and when you hit the ruts from the highway it will pull you around on the road. I would think that the factory tires must be half wore and with winter coming I'd put a good set of tires on your car and have them do a four wheel alighnment and that should clear things up for you.

Tires or road imperfections, the cruise control only controls the speed, not the steering dude.. at least not yet anyways! we're not that far in the future yet. I bet there was a grove on the road and it pulled the car to the side, trust me man.. the 400series highways ain't perfect, so I know it can happen.

The good year integrity tires suck big itme, especially on a 2500lb car and on freeway speeds happens to me all the time, and as soon as I get some money I am dropping some Yokahamas HK420 on my baby, my coworker with a 04 LE put those on and its like a day and night difference..... I am willing to bet you tires and the road caused the problem not the steering and like REN69 said all cruise does it keep a constant speed....
