Canada passenger seat airbag beeping for 06 Corolla CE.

Hey....I am wondering if there is a sneaky way of turning the annoying beeping off of the passnger air bag/seatbelt/dummy test....whatever. I don't know if my bag is too heavy or the sensor for the passenger seat is too sensitive but I can't even put my work bag on the passenger seat without the beeping going on...maybe forever if I let it. I was just wondering if there was a tricky thing to do. I asked our dealership about it and they said it wasn't an option so I think they're feeding it to me. Anyway, any ideas? Thanks and Cheers!

Yes there is. I found a way to do it the other day in the Pulsar. Think about this, you have to be able to take the seats out right? So to disengage the passenger pressure switch, search for the connectors that are bolted to the bottom of the seat. Make sure you get the pressure plate only, try not to disengage the airbag if there is one...

Why not find the buzzer itself and unplug it??? you unplug the pressure plate and you're basically disabling the airbag period, someone sits there and the airbag doesn't go off on an accident and you'll be looking at problems if your insurance finds out and someone gets hurt.

Why don't you just tell who ever is driving in your car with you to wear their seat belt and all of your problems are solved. No worries.

Just buckle the seat belt first, then put your bag on there...no biggie, next to no labor involved, costs $0.00, and everything remains factory stock. It's a very minor annoyance, in the grand scheme of things

The buzzer only beeps for the first minute then quiets itself, so if you can stand a minute with that thing going off, then just let it beep for a minute and it will stop.

But then if you take something out of a bag and place it on the seat, or your little dog shifts it's weight, then the beeping starts again. I'ts an annoyance and a distraction, particularly when you're driving. There should be an option to turn it off, but I havn't found it yet.

The simlest solution is to just fake otu the system and buckle the belt over and empty seat. YOu might also find a junkyard and cut out the seatbelt buckle and plug it in. If you figure out how to turn the stupid chime off, let me know.
