ok -
I'm not an expert -
but I did sell Toyota's last year & they would have "Special" models & promotions every now & then on a limited amount of vehicles with special packages and pricing -
"TRD", "Bubba-Special", etc...
really an excuse to run a "Sale" -
the car I got looks like it still has the original paint - i.e. no holes from removed model name tags -
it DOES have a TRD label on the side & the TRD torsion bar in the engine compartment as well as the TRD body kit -

and since it has TRD on the side, the kit, & on the bar as well as the suspension has been obviously set up as a "race" car (plus nitous button & wiring) -
I'm therefore calling it a "Corolla TRD" -
if someone has the 'correct' name -
I'd be much obliged -
ya know the old "walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, must BE a duck" -

granted, it COULD just be a heavily modified standard model - probably an "S" -
but it seems like too much trouble was put into hiding that fact -
i.e. - it wasn't toned down to be a 'Stealth'/Ringer car with standard 'old-lady-Sunday-driver' looks-
know what I mean, Vern -

I might hafta get one of my buddies at the Toyota Store to see if the VIN will tell me anything -

If it is a limited edition TRD car. (never seen or heard of it, but who knows) It will have a plate under the bonnet (or maybe in the cabin) with the build number + other details.

If it doesn't have one of them I'd bet it was all done after market.

What TRD parts do you actually have. Just a strut brace and a body kit?

no special plates inside or on door sill -

If it doesn't have one of them I'd bet it was all done after market.
Looks like that's a good bet -

What TRD parts do you actually have. Just a strut brace and a body kit? does TRD radiator cap count as "special"?? Seriously - it does have one of these -
THANX for prompt reply -

If it's a 2002, it's probably a Corolla S with something TRD on it, most likely intake or suspension. You buy a TRD product and you get a TRD sticker/badge with it. Anyone can put TRD parts on their cars at dealerships and they put on those stickers or badges on it. Doesn't necessarily mean its a "TRD Corolla", you just have TRD parts on it.

BTW punter, we're talking about TRD USA here.. not TRD Japan.

You got a black interior? If so its an S with TRD Parts all over. If not look at title for trim or if emblems are still on trunk check if its CE or LE. Everything else is trd parts. And your lucky. The TRD Kit is hard to find and even harder to find is the trd lowering springs. All TRD parts for the 8th gen have been discontinued except for the strut bar which I assume will be gone soon as well.
