Question 03 Corolla Power Loss

My 2003 Corolla is losing power. I was driving it and it started having surges of power and would not go past 30 mph. Then I let it sit and took it for a test and it seemed fine. Does anyone have any ideas what this might be? Fuel Filter? I don't know if it has ever been replaced. I thought I paid to have it done but now I am starting to question that. Please Help!

I would think your check engine light would be on. Sounds like a fuel or ingnition or wire problem to me. Have a mechanic put it on the computer. I have 209,000 miles on mine with no major problems. Keep us posted.
