1982 Corolla Starter will not work
Help. My 1982 Corolla starter will not turn over after the engine has got hot. After the engine cools, it still will not work unless I bang on it with a steel rod (rebar works). This is the third starter (original and two rebuilts) that this has happened to. I removed this last starter and polished up all the contacts in the soleniod, figuring that was the problem. The starter worked fine while in the drive way, but failed again after I drove the car to town and back.
Any help would be appreciated.
