If you want a 3sge in the US, you'll have to import it, if I'm not mistaken. I'd go with a 4agze. That'd be cool.

What do you want to do with the car?
Just a daily driver?

I'd just go with a 4age because its easy.
Your budget will decide which 4age you get. Any other motor will cause you extra headaches, ie. Mounts, gearbox, driveshafts.......

Or are you one of the, "I just want to be different" people.

Punter is right. What are you going to do with the car? Are you looking for economical or sporty? How much knowledge do you have in reference to installing an engine. Are you going to do the work yourself? Budget plays a BIG part, especially in this area.
What mods are you looking to install? Lots to think about.

20 VALVE SILVERTOP ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
NEW HARNESS
NEW HUB BEARINGS (BOTH FRONT)
COLD AIR INTAKE
NEW COMPRESSOR & DRYER
BATTERY RELOCATED TO TRUNK
CUSTOM HEADER & COMPLETE EXHAUST
NEW BRAKES (VGX SERIES FROM SUMMIT RACING)
NEW O2 SENSOR (BOSCH)

THINGS LIKE THAT.....

Regardless of what motor he goes with, economical is out of the question as ALL the motors on his list like the fine premium wine.

For a sedan though.. I'd go with a 3rd gen 4AGZE, just ask 4AaronGE how much he likes his GZE sedan.

haha.. I like your thinking.. I think I'm gonna have a folder on my desktop for these things.. cut and paste will be my best friend.

BTW, I believe the 3SGE ranges from 130hp to 210hp (or 220hp I think) for the BEAMS 3SGE.

3SGE came out in non-turbo cellicas (late 80s or early 90s). the BEAMS 3SGE on the other hand only came out in Japan or prolly Europe (not sure)

I dont think I'd bother with an NA engine.

They're ok on some cars, but an AE101 isnt in my opinion one.

Unless you plan on breaking something you shouldnt need replacement parts. There is a guy on club4ag that said the same thing about a 20v and he dropped in a 4agze and he still cant find a harness, after 4months! So a 20v isnt that bad of a choice. If you need parts you can talk to Jeff at Toyota of Houston. He works in the parts dept and he has the software to get parts for the 20v.

Really, mines not.

I went from a 4afe ae101 coupe to a 20v ae101 coupe.
The FE would get 580~600km per tank, now I get 510~530km per tank.
Both manual, same size tank.

(Or on a track day, 200km per tank)

What are prices for 20v's, 16v 4ages or gzes like over there?
