UK Cam belt change - yay or nay?

First time post, just a quick question.

I have a '99 Corolla 1.3 SE which has done 48,000 miles (16,000 of them since I got the car 20 months ago). Can anyone please tell me whether I should do as my (slightly dodgy) local toyota garage is suggesting and change the cam belt?

They claim 5 years/60,000 miles but theyre gonna charge me about £250 which seems a bit of a rip off to me.

I plan to sell the car within the next 4-6 months.

Thanks

Whats your engine code? 4E** or 2E**.

If its a 2E the yes change it as they are an interference motor.
If its a 4E** then its not so big a deal, still "should" be done.

And yes 250 pounds is alot, my mate paid $440 NZD for one on a similar car.
