Hello there. I'm about to install some steel door sills for my moms 06 Corolla S. How do you remove the oem black sills?? Are they held on by screws or tape??

Let me know ASAP

Aren't they just suppose to 3M tape/stick over them?....If not then they(black original) just pop out with plastic tabs holding them in....

Theyre just held in by tabs. Just unscrew the cover that overlaps them in the front.

I do not see any tabs. I called the dealership and they said its held on by 3m tape, so I can just pull them off.

What model year Corolla are you talking about?....There are no screws that hold the original sills in, just some plastic tabs that hold it into the lower door frame. The "new" chrome or stainless sills just 3M tape right over the original....God you don't have to be a rocket scientist to see that, all you have to do is look at the new sills they way they are cupped to fit fit perfect right over the original ...What the hell is the big deal

The black plastic ones on my '06 LE are held on by tabs. You need to get the plastic cover off the bottom edge of the door frame that overlaps the sills. The cover is held on by a black plastic screw.
