Do you want a 4age? I have one real cheap, engine and tranny and I am in Ga. if you are interested. It came out of my car and the only reason I pulled it was because I dropped in a 20v ST. Let me know if you are interested...Later

If you want answers about the A series engines look up bill sherwood. He is the expert on this type of info. He has a website http://www.billzilla.org He can tell you how to get 500 hp out of a GTS engine.

manifold<-->intake or exhaust? linkage<-->transmission linkage or what? does what produce any power gains? headers will give you a bit of an increase. Cams will give you a major increase however; you need to rethink using a 4afe for this. The block is not really made for large increases. You need a GTS block or GZE block. Good mods--- yeah buy you one of those two engines and build it up from there. If you have the budget sure you can do anything with those engines.

Where on the east side? near Jax beach?

Thats to much power for a 2300 lbs fwd car.
500 hp out of a 4age isn't the cheapest thing to do, you might as well go for a power powerful engine stock at that point.

manifold and linkage are both diy stuff. I made my linkage from hardware store stuff.
pros:
acceleration, throttle response mainly
cons:
fuel consumption, off idle performance, not being able to use the vacuum advance of the dizzy is a big hindrance.

Nobody said he had to put 500 hp in it. But the knowledge is available if he wants to learn how to boost his hp. Nobody said he had to spend a bunch of money on his car either. But the knowledge of how to do it is available to him. Like I said......
