Need help locating tach wire

I'm trying to install a remote starter on my corolla 2002 but can't find the right tach wire it should be at the ignition coil but somehow attempts to test for wires are unsuccessful can anyone help? Also I'm having trouble with the unlock door trigger I'm pretty sure I got the right wire because it works fine while the doors are open but when I the doors are closed it won't unlock with remote and at the same time the unlock button in the car won't work either.I can only make it work again if I turn the key in the door and unlock it first..then all works fine until I shut the doors again??? I tought it was a negative trigger but testing the unlock wire behind kick panel reveals ground signal when no buttton is pressed( might possibly have something to do with the dome light???)... so I'm confused. help needed..Thanks !!

They have a lock and an unlock wire, 2 different ones. Looks like you've only found the lock wire.

You can get a tach signal from the Diagnostics port under the bonnet, or from behind the gauge cluster.

HTH.

there are two different wires for lock and unlock and I tested all the ones coming out of the door and found the lock wire no problem and found one wire that is most likely the unlock but it's somehow grounded already(not a strong current ground but still it is grounded somewhere)... but how can that be possible because it is a negative trigger door unlock....

Buy a 10 dollar haynes manual and look it up. You can get a signal from the dianostics port. Run your green wire there. In the book it shows them using an external tach for diagnostics, same idea. Run the black to the neg side of the battery, red to positive and the white to the headlight switch if it has a lighting feature.
