ignition alternatives.

so i fixed my car, replaced the headgasket, and had it all put back together.

now i have a vacuum problem....bugger is messing up around the distributor.

if i were to buy a msd ingnition coil to replace the standard one, would that help the vacuum problem that i have? or would it not matter to me at all?

engine 4AF

problem, insufficient vacuum pressure from the distributor coming from the cam.

thanks

Re: ignition alternatives.

A new coil most likely would not help a vacuum problem. The vacuum problem is more likely a bad vacuum hose, hole in it, incorrectly routed vacuum lines, or your timing is out.

If your vacuum hoses are all ok, your inital advance is set correctly, then your timing belt is most likely off a tooth or two.

we checked the lines, checked for proper pressure, but it was the vacuume assisted timing advancment.

the cam/cams are adjusted properly, the ignition timing has been advanced to attempt to compensate for the hesitation, so that area is alright.
