Master or slave cylinder

Hi guys, I think im gona need a little advise here.
I driving an old 1990 corolla with 4AFE engine.
two months ago i have change the shaft assy of the master clutch cylinder.
this week i got almost the same problem.
i can still shift the gear when i hit the clutch pedal.
but if i hold it down for few seconds (say 10 sec) i feel like the resistance (back force fron the clucht) is missing.
now im little bit confuse on which one is causing the problem. is it the master cylinder or the slave cylinder.
another clue are:
1. there is no leakage inside the cabin above the pedal.
2. there is no leakage around the slave cylinder(it is dry).
3. the dot 3 oil in the clutch reservoir is not missing or coming down under the minimum level.

do you guys have any suggestion?
is bleeding the oil will do any good?

thank you
best regard

Did you change the whole mastercylinder or just the seals? If the latter, chances are its busted again. If you changed the whole cyl, then I'd put my money on the slave cyl or and you did bleed it right?

Dear Flashmn,
I change only the seal. does this mean the problem coming from the master cylinder?

thanks

first check to see if you have brake fluid coming INTO the cab from the CMC..... it happens with a lot of toyotas.... changing the seal won't help as the cast iron cylinder gets pitted and oil gets stuck in it

secondly..... bleed the system completely......

third.... replace the slave cylinder anyways..... they're inexpensive and easy to replace on an ae92.....

i have similar prob. clutch will engage if i hold the pedal down too long(not long at all) I know its the master but like was said earlier when changing master change slave. havnt changed mine yet but i bought new master and new slave just lazy i guess! but i does sound like it is most likley the master. changing both only cost about $100 and is very easy

it gets scary when the clutch sticks to the floor. I had that happen, had to help it up with my foot.
