Corrolla Sport

I am considering buying a corolla sport. I have a matrix right now and its not bad. Anyways what are some cheap ways (if any) to add some HP or torque to the 126HP corolla engine.

Keep in mind Im not trying to make a race car out it as I realize its not meant to be fast, but Im just curious if theres any ways to get 5, 10 or mabye even 15 more HP out of that enigne with out spending a shit load of money.

If you ever asked this question with the Matrix guys, the same answer will apply. Basically, intake, exhaust, and a couple of other things you can do under say $1000 that would give you a 5-10hp increase.

id go with ren69, getting around 15 HP isnt hard as long as you dont skimp on the parts, a intake, exhaust alone may give you close to 10 HP if not right at 10HP

awesome. Thanks for the replies. Would 10 extra HP even be noticeable though?

Add some knology hotwires, and that will give you about 7-10 extra also. You could probably go with bigger duration cams without spending a fortune too. That will make a big difference.

Ah ha ha ha ha sure dude, 10HP from friggin wires. That made my day!

The Corolla S is the same slow motor as the Matrix Xr. If you want more power get the XRS, either matrix or corolla it is significantly faster.

If you want to mod your matrix adding an intake, header, and exaust will make a noticable power difference, but to really make a difference you need different engine management. Oh and if you are going to do anything, buy brand name parts, not ebay shit. Most people who are disappointed with their performance parts bought junk off of ebay instead of researched products.

Good luck!
