general rule for replacing axles

what is the general rule of thumb for replacing axles? if you change an axle on one side (lets say the front passenger) would you have to change the other side as well?(the front driver side)?

and would you replace other things such as the wheel bearing? so what is the general rule for replacing axles??

i dont think you need to replace both as long as you inspect the other side for cracks and make sure the bearing is nice and lube.

You can just change out the bad axle. No need to replace the other parts unless they are bad.
