how to remove the AE86 radio antennae

hey everyone, I'm in the process of stripping my ae86 down... I have run into a problem and need some advice

how do you remove the antennae from the front passenger fender on the ae86???

I can't seem to find any screws or anything that would indicate loosening on the antennae...

also one of my lower bolts of the passenger fender is stripped and i cannot take it out... any advice on this?

thx

i'm saying wd40 or some good loctite grease/oil, and use plyers to pry the bolt out, then u'll hafta find a solution to get that back on, which the body shop will probably deal w/

I'm more interested in the rubber part contacting the fender

I don't want to damage it

Damn! I tried to do that on my other car and I broke it into 3 pieces. The official Toyota repair manual dosen't even say anything about it.

According to a crappy diagram in my Haynes manual that plastic base should be able to have the upper side and lower side separate. Unfortuantly it fails to mention how this is done with out destroying it.

'K, first remove the antenna part. Then you've gottta take off that cap that's sitting on the top of the mounting base. I couldn't quite get mine off properly, but that's okay. Personally, I just filled over the hole and now I'm antennaless.

Do they make some kinda antenna that sticks on the windshield or something? Personally I like the clean lines of a car ... nothing sticking up. But if you get no radio reception .. that'd suck.

Rear window antenna's look nice, they make a hatch look kinda like an RC car...
