Canada '98 Corolla 4 speed auto fluid level ...

I can't believe there is nothing in the Owner's Manual about checking the fluid level in the 4 speed auto trans...

Do you check it hot or cold ?? Engine running ?? In "park" ??

So, what's the word on proper fluid level check.

P.B.

You can always call the dealer and ask. The procedure on many Toyota’s is to start engine, run the trans from P to L and back. Check the fluid with engine on and fluid hot. Use the hot mark on the trans dipstick. The cold mark is used when refilling the trans and fluid is cold, but the checking procedure is the same.
