1991 Toyota Corolla starting problem

Hey,
I've been having this problem with my 1991 toyota corolla. It'll wok fine most of the time but every once in a while it just wont start. And if I wait for half an hour and then try to start it back up it starts. It usually happens when its left out in the heat.
Well im not really sure what the problem is because it could be because something is running when the car is off and draining the battery or something regarding the engine heating up and needs to cool off. Well the only other useful information I could give you is there is a humming noise when I try n start up the car when it wont start .

Doing a Search of the Corolla forum would've helped you equally as this has been discussed plenty of times. Time for a new starter dude, yours is suffering from heat soak, that is when it's hot enough in the engine bay (ex. after a long trip) the starter will not work right away, but if you wait a little while eventually it works again.

I had the same problem with my 89 GTS for the last year or more, now that I'm trying to get it ready for winter, the starter will not work anymore. Time for a rebuild.

When it doesn't start, does it turn over? Or does the starter nor work at all?
