99 Corolla engine light

Last week I was driving my car and all of a sudden the car started to jerk while I was accelerating. It started to slow down and then it ran fine. Today, I was driving and it started to jerk again while accelerating then the check engine light came on while my car started to shut down. Then I pulled over and started the car again, first, it wouldn't accelerate pass 20mph, then I turned it on and off several times and worked fine after that. This problem only happens every once in awhile. Can anyone diagnose the problem?

Yeah, an autoshop should be able to tell you what code the CE light represents. I believe most autoshops have code readers that will pull the code and tell you what it is. Most likely emissions related.

Dude, on that car you can most likely fix it yourself. Once it gets diagnosed its probably a simple fix.
