alright so I need to know, as I have the option to buy them.
do I have to change the brake lines or anything else to put the rear calipers on it
the rear suspension isn't a problem as I would be getting the whole subframe
But the fronts... will the gts ones just bolt in place of my sr5 machpherson strut, some have told me yes, some have told me no...
TO make it the easiers could I just use the machphereson rear struts and springs and shove them in there to replace the sr5 ones with no modifications?
you're planning to do a rear disk swap and you have no money for new cables, those dont even cost more than 20bucks at an autoparts store.
Secondly, depending on how old and used your calipers are, I'm not 100% sure your brakes are even gonna work, the handbrake system bearing wears out and then it wont raise the piston even though you engage the brake. Oh well good luck.
well I wasn't going to do the swap now. But the parts are avaliable. As for the suspension. that will be going on right away.
I willw ait to do the swap until I can bleed the entire break system as replacing the brake bias block will probably cause me to have to do that. Plus I will want to replace all the discs and pads. Also maybe get new calipers, since I need front ones anyways.
Yes everything suspension wise from ae92 GTS will bolt up to your sr5 as well as the ae92 sedans. Right now I have a 1992 sedan with the complete suspension from a 1989 GTS sans rear sway bar. For the rear bolt up the complete assembly and use the e-brake cables and flex lines from the GTS. The front will just bolt-up aswell.
well to use the rear stuff from a gts best thing you could do is grab the whole subframe. From what I understand the gts and sr5 suspension on the front is the same, with exception to the sr5 and sedan not having the swaybar.
