2000 Corolla LE w/ abs Hum Noise

CAR: 2000 Corolla LE with ABS

Hi guys,
I have an issue with my Corolla. Since day one (bought new), when I start the car and put it in drive, and as soon as the car starts to roll, I get a humming noise. I took it to the dealer and they said it was normal. They said that the ABS system always makes the noise when you first roll. Its not just a noise, but I also get a power surge (really a loss), I can tell by my headlights - they get weak for a second. Is this normal for the Corolla's? I wish I had found this site earlier.

Anyone with abs on their Corolla want to comment?

I dont no how much noise you are having, but from any Anti-lock Braking System I've ever known you dont really hear much of any noise until you push them hard. Hard enough to almost cause the brakes to lock, and then you hear the ABS kick in. As far as the power loss, no, that shouldn't be happening at all. I would go back and hound them until they fixed that. If you wait the brakes or whatever is causing the noise may fail on you in an extreme situation and that would be a bad thing. Of course thats only my opinion.
