Question Did they ever make a MALLORY distributor for a 4AGE?

Now I have seen many different Distributors made by MALLORY (MSD) for different popular engines but did they ever make one for a 4AGE?? Lots of people put the 4AGE motor in cars that never had them originally. So how due they do this conversion with the stock distributor?

Thanks

Conversion for what and why do you need to convert it? The stock distributor is good for most applications.

When you do a swap with a 4age, just leave the distibutor in the car along with the rest of the parts. One of the biggest problem I've seen with most swaps is the wiring.

Not to mention, since the ignition system is OUTSIDE of the cap with the 4A-GE, you can use the rest of the MSD/Jacobs/Accel/Whatever ignition system as well.

ok.... sounds like this question was answered completely wrong....

first off.... mallory and MSD are NOT the same brands.....

secondly... if you're going from a 4afe to a 4age and want to use the 4afe ecu.... you need to find the right 4age distributor (and NO they are not all the same)... i've seen at least 3 different 4age dizzy's.... the one you need will have the same matching gear numbers on both the upper and lower cogs inside of the distributor..... then you need to pull the wiring out of the 4afe distributor and re-arrange the magneto pickups as to match the 4age's distributor (this is so you can figure out which wires go where).... then it's just a matter of extending the wires and adding the stock 4afe plug

[quote from toyloco ] So how due they do this conversion with the stock distributor?

The question that was asked....was answered correctly That may not have been the question that needed answering, but in fact it was the question that was asked.

[quote from toyotaspeed90] if you're going from a 4afe to a 4age and want to use the 4afe ecu.... you need to find the right 4age distributor

Why would you want to use a 4afe ECU on a 4age when it would be so much easier to use a 4age ECU?
