Unleaded premium gas in an AE101

Would putting in unleaded plus or premium gas in a 4A-FE engine have much effect? I remember reading that if you're engine isn't designed to take high quality gas then it'd be pointless to use it. And I figure the 4AFE is designed for just regular unleaded.

Yep on a 4afe it won't make a difference.
Only smallports, 20v's and gzes need high octane.

If the 4A-FE runs on premium like my 7A-FE does, your economy will go down and power will decrease. It also doesn't run as smoothly. 89octane never seemed to have much noticable effects, but nothing positive.

basically any 4age after 1990 needs high octane.

the 4af that I have runs alot nicer on 92 than on 87. Less vibration. But I haven't run it for a few months now, and like I said I noticed a difference. Was really bad when I got it because the carb needed cleaning.
