need clutch kit for xrs

thinking of buying an exedy clutch kit . any other sugestions or pros and cons? there's just so many setups that look good. kits like spec stage one, act tc2hdss,fidanza,clutch master, trd, andsachs. stock clutch is no good for sure ,only got 21000 miles out of it ,normal daily driving too.any comments welcomed.

Get the exedy clutch with Fidanza 7.5 lbs flywheel (stock Celica GTS/XRS flywheel is 12 lbs). It is the best combination and I plan to switch once my clutch wears out (still going really strong). It will be heavier and tougher clutch while the light flywheel will reduce rotational mass. Which makes it easier on the engine to spin the flywheel causing the engine to rev up faster and car feels much lighter so as a result in a peaky, high revving car like XRS, it liberates around 10% more HP to the wheels that the engine is already making.

The drawbacks (if you want to call it that) are that it takes some getting used to since car can stall easily if you are not careful with the throttle and let the revs fall quickly. Once you become used to it, you would not want to go back.

Listen to Faisal he knows what he is talking about, and he just saved me a lot of typing.

A flywheel is probably the best mod you can do to the XRS second to the Injen intake....

thanx for info

i have decided on an exedy stage one organic clutch kit and speed source actuating rod for slave unit. cant afford a fancy flywheel . im sure this setup will work just fine as a daily driver for my wife. and yes she knows how to drive a manual trans.she'll be suprised with a new twm short shifter. wonder if she'll know the difference.

I hope she has long monkey arms, I drove a corolla S with the TWM and it was really really short, made reaching 5th gear a chore

While the transmission is taken out, my suggestion is to get the lighter flywheel as well since it will save for the labor hours of taking out the transmission later on (a major portion of the installation costs) should you decide to get it. That is what I would do, but at the end of the day, it is you car.

I agree with Wheelgunner that it is just about one of the best mod to better utilize the peaky power of 2zz.

she's just 5ft 2inches so she sits pretty close to wheel allready. im use to grabiing the lower portion of the shift nob on the stock setup anyway.
