lol they dont make "kits" for our cars, im making my own "kit" based off of what i want outta my motor. Its way better then buying a kit in my opinion.
FMIC i got from a buddy
14b turbo & BOV is off my bros busted ass DSM's
Intercooler piping is off of ebay
JGS stage 2 turbo manifold
Thats all i have in my possesion as of now, rest is on its way

i'll be building a 4agte setup in my 85 mr2 here soon....

already have the ct20 (from a 2/3tgte) which looks to be rebuilt & good shape.... have the mock-up motor to build the mounts for it (not going right off manifold).... also already have a megasquirt..... only things i'm going to need on top of that is a small intercooler (probably gonna look for a stock DSM i/c with the piping) and some 7mge injectors.... and some piping... but i'm not concerned about that

i will inevitably build it the same way i built the harness on a friends 20V mr2 and my old 87 supercharged mr2 (for megasquirt)...

that is, tear it down to almost nothing and build it up.... it's quite easy that way and wiring (IMO) gets easier.... you learn more that way as well

my old mr2 and the 20V mr2 have ms1 v2.2 boards (both came with v3 chips... but when you upload the .s19 file for edis you go back to the v2.2 firmware)

this new setup i have an ms1 v3.....

this is just a prefitment (100% early on in the stages), i need to make sure it fits like this along with puts the intake pipe ~ where i want it (towards the trunk) before i make more brackets, but....

this is on a mock-up motor (obviously)

and yes, i understand the "you'll lag a lot more with it there" concept and the fact that it sits off the motor pretty far (but in an aw11 there's a lot more room back there than on the exhaust side)

what is it the MSII has over the MSI that you need?

and you understand that the MSII is just a small board with other parts that replace the main chip in an MSI unit.....

needs some work but...

not bad for making a bracket blindly using a vice and a hammer

Wow thats a cool setup! Good job.

Will be interesting to see what the lag would be like, I suspect it would be as bad as you'd think.

W/A intercooler?

actually.... the piping between the stock manifold and the turbo inlet will only be about a foot long..... i'll lose a little heat/velocity... but with the smaller turbo i'm expecting full boost only like 200-300 rpm less than i would have with it on the exhaust side

there's actually already an mr2 in this area that has one running.... he doesn't have a lag issue either (not that i got this idea from him.... i've had this idea for about 2 years now... just finally got a car, turbo, and time to attempt it)

for now, i'm just looking for an a/a intercooler.... i'll have a fan on it and at the very least 1 hole cut in the upper part of the trunklid to vent..... it would have been better in an 87-89 since they already have ducting from the sidevent to the trunk.... being this car an 85 it doesn't.... oh well

Sorry my bad.

I meant to say wouldn't instead of would. That kinda changes the meaning of my sentance.
Anyway, keep up the good work
