Pinhole in gas tank, suggestions?

Like the subject says, I have a pinhole (from what I gather) in my tank. If it is filled past half way, I get a very slow drip. Could this be anything other than a hole in the tank? I'm thinking not since it doesn't leak any other time than when its filled past half way, all lines are new and it doesn't leak at all when running. My other question is, does any one have expierience with JB Weld? I've had a couple mechanic friends recommend this stuff, I went out and bought some, but am unsure if it will do what it says. Any help, greatly appriciated.

might wanna check the filler tubes and the gasket at the sender/pump hole (under back seat) it might not be the gas tank at all!

As far as cold welding Belzona is best. Get it at industrial supply stores or maybe body shops could point it out. Like the old Red-Hand epoxy but much better. Really tho even Wal-Mart has some better 2 parters better than J-B Weld. Not that I'm putting down the old JB but there are much better now.

The gasket could actually be the culprit, since my tank certainly doesn't look rusty at all, I've been under that part of the car numerous times. I hate taking out the back seat, grr... and thanks for the suggestions on the cold welders silky, though I'll probably use good ole JB since I already bought the stuff (if it comes down to it actually having a hole in it). Now that I think about, would a bad gasket leak when the car is on an incline also? When I backed it up onto the ramps to put the exhaust on it had a pretty good drip goin. Damn this car, its so hard to modify when all you do is maitnence every time. This and the speedo not working have been irritating me for a while now, and between getting pulled over for going to slow (yea, I know, gotta love bored cops, 30 in a 35, I was close) and almost having the car towed because people could smell gas (even though it wasn't dripping or anything) at my apartment complex, its time to get on the ball.

Have had this problem before, a gasket or hose on the tank. Also check the seam where the two parts of the tank are welded together.

there is gas tank putty that you can get at the parts store
just apply that to your pinhole size hole and it will seal itcould also be the filler neck hose clamp might be loose

Whoa, lots of people with leaky gas tanks? Thanks for all the help, I'm gonna have a look tomorrow finally, now that I have a day off, so maybe I can park it at home again. The seams look good, and what would the epoxy do? Same thing as the JB?

The other epoxy is designed for gasoline and to not break down if gas gets on it. JB weld once dry should be good as long as it will adhere to the tank. I dont know how the JB weld will hold up if gasoline gets on it. It may not harden properly. But like you said, you've already bought it so you may as well try it. Good Luck.
