new vs. used

It seems like a Toyota that's one or two years old isn't much cheaper than a new one. Is there any reason to buy a used one these days?

Interest rates are usually cheaper on new so the price is for your monthly payment isn't much different and it come's with a full warranty and that new car smell. OH and knowing your the only one who has ever parked thier ass in the drivers seat.

But with used you can haggle and dicker with the dealer so price should come down as well.

I bought my Corolla LE used and used the current price of new ones as a barganing tool. Everytime they came back with what they wanted for the car, I gathered my jacket and told the salesman that I was heading down to the Toyota dealer to buy a brand new one. I don't think I got a great deal on the car, but I do think I paid what it was worth.

If you are buying used, wait until December, that's when the dealers want to move inventory.

And be careful of which one you buy. I know of a few women who buy new vehicles every 2 or 3 years and if each vehicle ever gets an oil change in 30K miles it should consider itself "lucky".
