Smile 7mgte motor in 86 sr5 corolla

ok heres the noob lol ...i just bought an 86 sr5 doesnt start BUT its soooo clean i paid $500 for it..carb motor...well i am thinking about swaping in a 7mgte motor in it for next summer but i want to get everything from now and just put it in my garage...anyone ever done this swap before?? know anyone who has?? any links?? I tried searching but like i said i'm a noob so i basically found nothing...i am only going to swap in the motor,front mount,stock turbo a little more fuel maybe 550's, trying to run it on stock ecu....let me know thanks alot..

Everything from 4cyl to V8s has been done on the AE86 before. I suggest if you're thinking of upgrading your motor to such a bigger motor that FIRST you upgrade your suspension in order to take that much power and weight, and then think about motor swaps.

honestly all of that will be done ONCE motor is in and running....any info on the swap?? wher ei can look, who i can ask?? thanks again

The 7M is a big heavy lump, but can produce good numbers.

Expensive exercise, clutch, gearbox, diff, driveshaft, brakes, suspension,

ontop of all the engine costs.

still waiting to hear from someone that has doen the swap...i am already getthign a rebuilt 7mgte motor with 20 overs,metal head gasket...thanks for the info but i really need to speak to others that have done the swap
