Hey guys
I have a AE92 with the 4-af in it: http://s92.photobucket.com/albums/l9...&addtype=local
and im wondering what i need for the swap, i've read the old posts but nothing that clarifies what i need exactly for the 4-af.
I believe im going to need the fuel pump and maybe the fuel lines??
Will the CV shafts work from this engine for the 20v?
should i replace the motor mounts?
I also have a automatic 4-af atm and the 20v comes with full wiring, engine, and manual transmission, so im going to need a clutch master cylinder? and a clutch pedal?
any help is appreciated~!
You don't need fuel pump/lines. CV joints etc. are fine too. I recommend replacing the mounts though, I didn't and regret it Radiator is fine too.
I have no idea about the whole clutch/pedal thingy though but I guess you'll need it since you're going from auto. -> manual.
Yes you will need an EFI pump, the best way (IMO) is to swap your tank for one from an efi corolla, then run a new fuel line to the engine, you can use you existing fuel line as the return.
Yes you can use you auto axels on the 20v gearbox. (you WILL get torque steer though)
Yep just get the clutch master, slave, clutch pedal and brake pedal from a manual ae92.
And yes motor mounts is probably a good idea, to save cost I only replace the front and rear, as these are the ones that fail first.
Don't forget to do the cambelt, waterpump and thermostat on the new engine.

it's usually suggested when doing a motor swap, always easier to change them when the motor is out.

Not sure if the ae92 clutch pedal is part of an assembly, if it is you will need the assembly. But you will need the master cylinder for sure. You will need the linkages and depending on what tranny it has you might have to modify the piece that holds the shifter, for the 6 speed.
or you make a swirl pot into the engine bay and use the carb fuel pump to pump fuel to the swirl pot from the fuel tank, and you have a high pressure pump feeding from the swirl pot.
thanks alot for your help guys
as far as the clutch cylinder, what car would this come out of?
because i work at partsource and if i know the vehicle appliation i can look it up
thanks again
do i have to use a whole tank and fuel line? because im kinda short on funds atm.. can i just put a fuel pump somewhere inline and when i have the money down the road do the whole thing?
ya im just gonna pull it out of the wrecker, my work wants $352 for a new 1

well you should use the tank since the carb tank doesn't have baffles to stop the fuel from sloshing around and with efi that will cause a problem since if you corner hard it will end up not getting fuel.
With the lines, again yes as the carb lines are meant for lower pressure, and I think there is no return line. For those you can buy the lines new and bend them how you need them. Not sure with toyota but alot of dealers no longer sell prebent lines anyways.
